Overview
ForgeApp is a free mobile client for Forgejo and Gitea self-hosted Git instances. This app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to the developer or any third party.
Data You Provide
To use ForgeApp, you provide:
- Server URLs of your Forgejo or Gitea instances
- API tokens for authenticating with those instances
This information is stored locally on your device only, using the platform's encrypted secure storage (Android Keystore). It is never sent to the developer, any analytics service, or any server other than the Forgejo or Gitea instances you configure.
Network Communication
ForgeApp communicates exclusively with the Forgejo or Gitea servers you add to the app. All network requests go directly from your device to your servers. There are no intermediary servers, proxies, or third-party services involved.
Data Collection
ForgeApp does not:
- Collect analytics or usage data
- Use tracking libraries or advertising SDKs
- Send crash reports to the developer
- Access contacts, location, camera, microphone, or any other device sensors
- Store any data outside your device
Third-Party Services
ForgeApp does not integrate with any third-party services. The only external communication is with the Forgejo or Gitea instances you explicitly configure.
Data Stored on Device
All data stored by ForgeApp remains on your device:
- API tokens — encrypted via Android Keystore
- Instance metadata (server URL, display name) — stored in app preferences
- Cached content (repositories, issues, notifications) — stored in app memory and cleared when the app is closed
Uninstalling the app removes all stored data.
Children's Privacy
ForgeApp does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published alongside the app's source code with an updated date.
